Light of the World Prayer Group

We gather each Wednesday night at 7:30pm in the Parish Conference Center to experience our Lord’s great love for us. We sing praises to God and we listen to His Word. The Holy Spirit, by virtue of our Baptism and Confirmation, has given all of His people charisms* for the building up of His Church.

We have a weekly teaching which is usually part of a series; i.e. “The Sacraments,” “Dealing with Difficult Emotions,” “Developing a Prayer Life,” and “Crisis of Faith.” People come from many surrounding parishes to be nourished by the Lord at Nativity’s Prayer Group.

There are special graces, also called Charisms, after the Greek term “favor,” gratuitious gift.” Whatever their character – sometimes it is extraordinary, such as the gift of miracles or of tounges – charisms are oriented toward sanctifying grace and are intended for the common good of the Church. They are at the service of charity which builds up the Church [Catechism of the Catholic Church (Paragraph 2003)]
